3/16/06: Define Me: An Educational Evening About Autism Spectrum Disorders Presented by Sondra Williams, an adult with autism and parent to four children with autism spectrum disorders.
3/06/07:Parenthood And Partnership: Maintaining Balance While Raising a Child With Special Needs Psychologist Susan Weltner-Brunton discussed the stressors on parents of children with special needs and tips for maintaining a resilient marriage.
11/07/07: Modification Strategies for School and Home
Julie Abrams an intervention specialist at the New Albany 2-5 elementary school addressed the importance of modifications in helping students achieve curricular success, in both school and home settings.
3/04/08: How to Bait the HookPresenter Sondra Williams. Discuss techniques for observing and interpreting the unique ways children with autism experience world.
10/21/08: IEP and You: Updates on IDEA and changes to the IEP New Albany schools special education coordinators Cindy Eldridge and Annette Andres presented information on the updates to IDEA and how it effects changes to your child’s IEP. The evening will covered the process of participating in an IEP meeting and the product in the actual writing of the IEP document.
03/10/2009: “Transition for Students age 3 to 22” Whether your child is transitioning from Early Supports and Services to Preschool, preparing to move from the Elementary School to the Middle School, or is at the High School exploring post secondary and vocational opportunities so that they may someday live and work independently; transition can bring about exciting new changes and can generate certain stressors. New Albany Special Education coordinators, teachers, counselors, and parents will join together at this educational evening to discuss the universal themes of transition.

10/14/07: Family Picnic at Blendon Woods: Families brought their own picnic and a ranger shared items from the “Amphibians and Reptiles” program.
